Senior Contract Developer

HousingIntellect is a compliance platform for affordable housing. It helps owners, management companies, and housing agencies review tenant files, track deadlines, and stay compliant across LIHTC, HUD, Rural Development, HOME, and state programs. The platform is live with paying customers and growing, and we're looking for a senior developer to take ownership of day-to-day engineering and security.

• Build and maintain features across our web application, from the user interface to the database
• Own security engineering: database access controls, authentication and multi-factor authentication, audit logging, encryption, and secure configuration across our cloud services
• Lead the technical side of SOC 2: implement and maintain controls, gather technical evidence, and resolve audit findings
• Improve code quality, testing, and deployment processes
• Work directly with the founder on priorities and the product roadmap

• 5+ years of full-stack development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks
• Strong experience with relational databases, including row-level or role-based access controls
• Security experience in a regulated industry, such as healthcare, fintech, or government
• Experience taking a company through SOC 2, or implementing SOC 2 technical controls
• Comfort working with AI-assisted development tools
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly

Contract, remote, 10-20 hours a week. $75 to $150 an hour, depending on experience. Potential for an equity grant and a longer-term role as the company grows.
